Maxbauer Ace Hardware has been providing the Traverse City area with Hardware and Services since 1954. Maxbauer Ace Hardware has been family-owned and operated since 1954. Originally owned by the Maxbauer family until 2015, when Shawn O’Brien, a long-time employee, purchased the three stores. We employ around 60 people from the Traverse City area and look forward to meeting you in our store. Our store is a member of the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the industry. Ace Hardware began as a small chain of stores in 1924 and has grown to include more than 5,000 stores in 50 states and more than 70 countries. Each Ace Hardware is unique and tailored to meet the needs of its local community.
